I started this quilt only a little over 2 years ago.
I did spiral quilting on it which is one of my favorite ways to quilt.
It's a great feeling to have it finished.
Often I just start sewing fabrics together and wait until the quilt tells me what it wants to be.
This was the way I designed this quilt which was finished a while ago, altough it is a time lapse quilt too.
This quilt was created with two groups of 8 hand dyed fabrics each. One group was mottled rainbow fabrics. The other groups was loosely 8 gray toned neutrals.
After sewing the strips together I sliced and diced and this is what happened.

I drew the feather design that was hand quilted.
It also uses a variety of black fabrics to add texture and interest.
read moreThis is the third quilt in the series I made from a gorgeous piece of my ice dyed fabric.
It is also the last as I used all the fabric.
I used unique borders and quilting on this one. read more
